March arrives in Barcelona with a different quality of light. Softer mornings, longer evenings, the first real warmth on your skin after months of grey. And right at the centre of it all: March 8th, International Women's Day.
In Barcelona, 8M is a day of voices, of movement, of gathering, and of celebration. Whether you're joining one of the city's marches, exploring the cultural programme that fills the whole month, or simply marking the day with the people you love, here's your guide to doing it well.
What's Happening in Barcelona on 8 March 2026
This year, 8M falls on a Sunday, so the celebrations span the whole weekend.
Saturday 7 March: Night March "Se Va Armar La Gorda" The unmixed night march for women, lesbians and trans people (in its 16th year) gathers at 19h at Plaça de Charles Darwin (Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta 31B). A powerful, distinctly Barcelonina tradition.
Sunday 8 March: The Main Marches Two simultaneous marches fill the city centre:
Assemblea 8M: 11:30h from the Jardinets de Gràcia, moving along Passeig de Gràcia to the Arc de Triomf, where the manifesto is read. → assemblea8m.cat · caladona.org/manifestacio-8m-2026
Moviment Feminista de Barcelona: 12h from Plaça Catalunya, heading towards Plaça Sant Jaume. → beteve.cat: 8M 2026 routes
All Month: Cultural Programme Barcelona's 52 Civic Centres host concerts, exhibitions, workshops and talks throughout March. Highlights include "Amazonas en clave musical" at CC Albareda (March 6, 13, 20) and "Més que muses" at CC La Farinera del Clot (running into early March). Most events are free. → ajuntament.barcelona.cat: 8M 2026

Why This Feels Right for 8M
At Faire, we believe the choices we make every day, about food, sourcing, how we treat people and the planet, are themselves a form of care.
Every receipt plants a tree with Tree Nation (50,000+ trees and counting 🌳). All food waste is composted by Abonokm0. Our bread comes from Eric & Benjamin, our dairy from Granja Selvatana. We use secondhand furniture, discount plant-based milks, and source everything with intention.
Taking care of what we eat is one small way of taking care of everything else. That feels very much in the spirit of March 8th.
